Responsibilities & Expectations

“Observe, Record, Report”

 Failure to meet these Expectations may result in loss of Membership to the Island Rangers

  • You are required to follow the Expectations, Code of Conduct, Policies and Bylaws of the Island Ranger Society.
  • Your safety is your number one responsibility.  
  • Read emails and newsletters that are circulated to the membership. As well periodically check the website for any updates.
  • You must sign into the website Calendar EVERY time before accessing Mosaic lands.   You must also check for any area closures due to Fire hazard or snow.
  • If you have a guest with you, you must have them sign the guest waiver, and include them in your pre-trip, prior to heading out.
  • Members must keep their contact information Emergency Contact & Vehicle Plate & Description up to date on the website and complete.
  • Members will display the appropriate combination of decal, flag, and orange placard pertinent to their vehicle type whenever they enter the land base.
  • Members must have automobile/ATV liability insurance on their vehicle.
  • Members must have a working radio & call out on the radio every 2 – 5kms (At all road markers).
  • Members must access the lands the required number of times in the calendar year to keep your membership with the Island Rangers.
  • Membership Dues must be paid by Dec 30 of each year (per bylaws).
  • If you have not accessed the land (or the website) in the past 90 days, you will be required to do the safety test again prior to accessing Mosaic lands.
  • You must leave gates as you found them – UNLESS you have volunteered for gate opening or closings.  *If you are unsure contact security.
  • When you complete your trip on Mosaic land – you must complete the MANDITORY Post Trip Report.
  • All Rangers should carry the In Case of Emergency list, (included).
  • During fire season you must carry – Fire Season document, a shovel, axe or Pulaski & 5 Gallons of water or a 10 lb fire extinguisher.
  • No overnight camping.
  • No campfires – at any time
  • Properly extinguish all cigarettes (Carry a pop bottle with water).
  • You will receive, stickers, magnets, access cards and/or keys these are the property of the Island Rangers and when you are no longer a Ranger you must return these items to the Island Rangers Board.
